Reviews for Restaurant Prima Taiping
Review highlights
Based on 342 reviewsRestaurant Prima Taiping is widely appreciated for its authentic traditional flavors, particularly its springy wanton noodles and standout satay offerings, including a uniquely flavored green sauce that sets it apart. The venue also gains recognition for its old-town kopitiam ambiance and well-prepared coffee, contributing to a nostalgic dining experience. While the restaurant tends to sell out early in the evening, reflecting its popularity, customers note some challenges with parking due to its location on a busy main road. Overall, the establishment is praised for consistently delivering quality local dishes prepared by the owner, making it a favored spot for both locals and visitors seeking authentic Taiping cuisine.
Must try the wanton noodle. It's springy (qq) with wonderful traditional taste. They open at 4pm and will usually sold out by 8pm
Pork Satay is excellent. And the chicken satay beats what you would get in Kajang.
Tried the pork satay and it tasted heavenly. It came with a green sauce and usual peanut sauce. One of the best satay I have ever tried. The green sauce is very unique and it is not usually available. I bought 10 sticks and it costs rm17
There are many coffee shops in and around Taiping, Prima being one of the more popular ones due to popularity of some of the stalls here. I've had alfresco dining in the evenings as well, but since the pandemic struck, that's been taken off.Parking is not quite easy, but a few rounds should get you a spot quite near to the place. It's located along the busy Jalan Kota, which is Taiping's main thoroughfare and is just a short walk away from the museum and the famous lake gardens. Some of the offerings here are more popular than others, namely the Chicken Rice, the Wantan Mee, The Nasi Lemak and also you can get some Chinese rice dumplings here (369) which is quite famous. It's quite a large coffee shop by regular standards and so seating is never really a problem. You are assured of a cheap and delicious meal here while doing your sightseeing!
Old town Kopitiam, all the food are prepare and cooked by the owner with good original taste, nice coffee to go with.
Having a very delicious lunch at Restaurant here, especially the Chicken Rice. we continuely 2 days come here for this Chicken rice , and take away whole Chicken back to our place for Dinner. really delicious ! you guy should come here and try it yourself! Sam's Chicken Rice
Chicken Rice is decent. Pork Burger is good. Satay is awesome, especially the pork satay. Intestine satay get a lil too chewy. The green satay sauce is special and really good. I see alot people buy their baos though will try it one day
As usual will be packed during weekends. Mostly Chinese food. If not mistaken, after 6pm tables and chairs will arranged in the mid of two buildings. So you can just order from other stalls in other buildings and just seat. Just placed your table number and wait for the food to be served.Everything will be served fast. Environment will be busy during Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Toilet was clean.
